Metabolic testing measures your body’s natural metabolic rate at rest and how your body uses carbohydrates and fats when active. Knowing your metabolic rates will enable our trainers to develop the most efficient diet and exercise program based upon your body's specific needs. At LifeWell Medical Fitness, we offer two types of metabolic testing.
Active Metabolic Assessment (VO2 Max Testing)
This assessment measures how well your body uses a mixture of carbohydrates and fats to fuel a variety of exercise intensities. This enables us to design your workout program to use energy more efficiently, essentially allowing you to burn more fat in less time during your workouts.
Resting Metabolic Assessment (RMR)
This assessment measures the minimum number of calories your body needs to function in a completely rested state. Knowing your RMR assists in determining how many calories you need to consume to maintain daily energy needs and assists you in creating the most appropriate diet plan for your body.
